Over the last decade, Asia Pacific has seen an enormous increase in the number lifestyle hotel rooms. According to a JLL report published on Wednesday, the number of lifestyle hotel rooms in Asia Pacific has increased by fourfold since 2014.
In recent years, lifestyle hotels, which are focused on design and local experiences as well as communal spaces, have become a significant part of the new hotel construction. JLL estimates that lifestyle hotels will make up 6% to 9% of new hotel openings between 2025-2027. Although that may not seem like much, this category is growing rapidly. JLL estimates that lifestyle hotel supply will increase by 34% by 2027.
Who is dominating the market?
By 2027 ten new lifestyle hotels brands, most of which are from Europe or the Middle East, will enter Asia Pacific. Over 80% lifestyle hotel rooms belong to international brands.
Marriott International dominates the region, with 11 lifestyle brands.
