    Waste management has a direct impact on the health of citizens, their livelihoods and the sustainability in our cities. The only way to achieve lasting change is through systemic solutions, which address waste in all its stages from generation to disposal. United Way Mumbai works to improve local waste management, increase awareness and empower communities. In partnership with IHCL, we build on this vision.     IHCL complements municipal initiatives in its efforts at reducing waste by using Safai Sathis For daily beach cleaning and waste management at Mahim Reti Bunder You can also find out more about the following: Mahim Causeway in Mumbai. The collected wastes are cleaned, segregated and sent to an Material Recovery Centre (MRC), reducing landfill burdens by recycling and coprocessing. The project, which runs from October to March, 2025, has collected 1,12,097.37 kilograms Waste that is processed in a systematic manner at the MRC

    The initiative focuses on waste management and also community engagement and awareness through educational activities and beach clean-ups, as well as shore walks and other activities with local residents, such women and youth from self-help group, sanitation workers and students.

    This initiative is aligned with Paathya 2030 IHCL is committed to a circular economy and waste management that prioritizes solutions.
