Hyatt Hotels Corporation The Scalesciani and David families, Mendoza-based entrepreneurs and owners of Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires (NYSE:H), today announced plans to build a new hotel in Buenos Aires. Casa DuhauThe new-build luxury Mendoza hotel has 52 villas and suits. Casa Duhau, the only Hyatt-owned hotel in Argentina in The Unbound Collection, will be located in Reserva Alto Agrelo. This new development project will span nearly 1,000 acres and include a winery, as well as 116 luxury residential lots. Construction is anticipated to start by the end 2025 with an opening date of late 2027.
Casa Duhau, part of Hyatt’s Luxury Portfolio will be located at Alto Agrelo in Mendoza. This is one of the world’s most important wine regions, and travelers can expect to travel approximately 30 minutes away from Mendoza city, or 35 minutes to El Plumerillo International Airport. Inspired by the surrounding environment of nearly 100 acres of vineyards and fruit trees, Reserva Alto Agrelo will be home to Bodega Agrelia, a premium boutique winery with world-class expertise from winemakers Michel Rolland and Marcelo Pelleriti, along with Casa David – Wine & Horses, an equestrian club with an advanced facility offering a veterinary clinic and training center for horses, 24-box stable, a state-of-the-art laboratory, and more.
Unbound Collection, a Hyatt Brand, is a collection of stories that are worth collecting. Each luxury property offers guests a unique experience and environment that will inspire them to travel. With panoramic views of Cordón del Plata, a mountain range in Mendoza, and Tupungato, a dormant volcano located on the border between Argentina and Chile, Casa Duhau is set to become an inspiring sanctuary, setting the stage for unforgettable horseback riding adventures, mountain biking, bonfires at sunset, and much more.
The hotel will feature 40 villas strategically positioned throughout the property, ensuring privacy. They offer expansive views of Andes Mountains. The hotel will feature two signature restaurants as well as a swimming-pool, fitness-center, state-of the-art spa and modern meeting rooms. It also has a lagoon. Casa Duhau’s gardens terraces and events hall are the ideal backdrop for any event. Reserva Alto Agrelo offers a chapel for weddings. This allows a seamless transition into an unforgettable celebration at one of these thought-provoking venues.
Reserva Alto Agrelo is the second major pillar for the master project. It will consist of a gated development that covers nearly 190 acre of land and will provide the basis for future residential units. Plans for the residential project include a private entry, pedestrian paths and two lagoons, as well as landscaped green space.
The wine club at Agrelia – Reserva Alto Agrelo boutique winery – plans to offer memberships that include an annual batch consisting of 72 bottles with personalized labels, carefully selected by Michel Rolland, and Marcelo Pellriti, renowned winemakers. The equestrian club, Casa David – Wine & Horses, also plans to offer access to residents and guests.
Casa Duhau’s architecture will be designed by BMA ARQS, a global company with offices in Buenos Aires and Miami. Martín Zanotti Studio will oversee the interior design, and Fernando González will be responsible for the landscape design. The development of Reserva Alto Agrelo by will be completed.
