    HX Expeditions partners with the Inuit community to launch excursions in Arctic Canada

    Travels to the most beautiful places in the world remote, untouched corners It is not new to the world that we are a planet. HX Expeditions (HX), a company that offers adventure cruises, has been doing things differently ever since 1896 when they charted the first route into the Arctic. Now, they’re pushing the envelope again by offering Arctic excursions that were developed alongside locals—in this case, the Inuit community of Nunavut, a sparsely populated territory in Arctic Canada that can only be accessed by plane or boat.

    The first community-led excursion of this size in the region marks a global first for the cruise industry.

    HX also shared that “100% of excursion revenues go directly to Nunavut businesses and individuals” to ensure the experiences are community-owned and to promote economic growth. 

    What can travellers expect from these excursions, then? These excursions range from guided hikes with Inuit The tour includes everything from traditional Arctic Char fishing to storytelling with locals about life in the North. The groups are usually 10 to 12 people and give travelers a rare chance to experience the North. engage with the daily life The people of these remote islands have their own traditions. 

    In the press release, Alex McNeil said, “These intimate trips are an opportunity for travelers to create meaningful connections with local residents, and experience the beauty Inuit hospitality in a way they have never experienced before.” He shared that the partnership is just the beginning for HX, adding that “we believe the future of exploration lies in collaboration—with the people who have called these regions home for generations.”

    HX Northwest Passage sailings from Greenland to Alaska can now include the new Canadian Arctic excursions. MS Fridtjof Nansen Eastbound from Alaska to Greenland on the MS Roald Amundsen. The excursions take place in Erkloo’s hometown of Pond Inlet, along with Gjøa Haven and Cambridge Bay.
