To avoid hiccups and inconveniences, corporate employees with their Known traveler number (KTN), otherwise known as PASSID or their bookings through their companies should renew Global entry. Also, anyone with a credit card that reimburses the Global Entry fee is advised to renew. Otherwise, they risk losing money.

She says that people who don’t travel abroad often may want to skip the application process. “Individuals who have had recent immigration or legal issues since applying” are also at risk.

How much is it to renew Global Entry?

The current Global Entry fee is $120 per five-year period.

How far in advance is it possible to renew Global Entry?

Global Entry is a part of the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)‘s Trusted Travel Program (TTP) The membership is valid for five years. You can renew up to a year in advance. Chip Lupo, Wallethub’s personal finance and analysis writer, says: “The biggest mistake is to wait until your membership has expired. This results in a lapsed benefits and unnecessary delay.”

If you are unable to schedule an interview for Global Entry before your membership expires you can still use the benefits by completing the online renewal form. This will allow you to continue using them up until 24 months after your membership’s expiration date. Leon recommends keeping proof of pending eligibility when travelling internationally during the generous two-year period.

What is the Global Entry Renewal Process?

TTP members can renew Global Entry membership by visiting the TTP site. ttp.dhs.gov. Log in first using the a login.gov account. You can create an account if you don’t have one already using your KTN number or PASSID. Leon advises to double check the website with the.gov after it, because some fake sites exist.

Declar your citizenship by selecting “Renew”. Select the program that you would like to renew, and then follow the instructions on the membership renewal webpage. The “Certify Page” will be displayed after the updated information and checks have been completed. The renewal will be added to the queue after you click “Yes” and submit an online payment.
