Hotel Eden Roc After seven months of renovations, the main building of the Ascona Hotel has reopened. The property, located on the shores of Lake Maggiore has unveiled a variety of new rooms, suites and a renovated lobby, façade, and Garden of Eden, which boasts Mediterranean charm and unparalleled lakeside views.
Carlo Rampazzi & Fiorenzo Tresoldi, two Ticino-based designers and architects, are in charge of the renovations. Together, they integrated extensive glasswork with carefully selected materials to give the hotel a sense of freshness and vitality. The redesigned lobby, rooms and suites in the main building are accentuated with vibrant colors and elegant architecture, reflecting the timeless charm of the hotel. Each balcony was also fitted with glass balustrades in order to enhance views of Lake Maggiore, the surrounding mountains and the hotel.
The Garden of Eden, a 100,000-square-foot space, has been redesigned with lush summer flowers, comfortable seating areas and direct access to a private harbour on the lake. The Eden Roc Beach Buggy, and the first Swisse pedalo, OTTER are also new offerings for those who want to enjoy adventures around the lake.
The resort’s innovative energy concept uses the natural temperature difference between groundwater and the lake to provide a CO2-neutral source of energy. The hotel generates its own energy using photovoltaic panels, making it one of the first independent hotels to make such a significant investment in sustainable energy efficiency.
Guests can enjoy peaceful walks around Ascona’s main piazza and leisurely boat rides in the lake while taking in the culture and charm of this region. Visitors can also take part in bicycle tours of Ticino, hikes to the Castelliere Ruins or explore the Monte Verita gardens. Eden Roc, the only real beach resort in Switzerland, has direct waterfront access to Lake Geneva. This allows guests to enjoy swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking right on the property.
