Hilton on Tuesday debuted its first Hilton Garden Inn Gen A hotels in China, a new regional prototype designed specifically for younger, more design-conscious travelers – Gen A stands for Generation Alpha.
There are openings in many cities, such as Chongqing Sanya Harbin. The company announced 19 new Hilton Garden Inn signings across Greater China at its 2025 Hilton Garden Inn Investment Summit. These properties will be added to the growing pipeline of 185 planned hotels, on top of the 115 currently operating in the area.
Hilton’s 2025 Trends Report revealed that 88% of Gen Alpha and Gen Z in Asia Pacific are likely to travel in the next year. The travel appetite of Gen Alpha and Gen Z is most pronounced in China and India, where the average number of trips made by young travelers in the last year was two to three.
