A federal judge’s ruling in the long-running antitrust case against Google was a clear victory for the tech giant — but travel companies got mixed results.
Google has long been criticized by many travel companies for prioritizing its own services over other search results.
In contrast to the European Union’s regulatory action, the judge did not make any rulings regarding the appearance of travel and other results on Google.com. The ruling didn’t also force Google into divesting Chrome or any of its other business units.
Google was not allowed to enter into exclusive distribution agreements, as the judge ruled.
