    • According to CoStar data from March 2025, hotel pipeline activity is increasing worldwide. Europe, however, has seen a decline.
    • Germany leads Europe. China leads Asia Pacific. Saudi Arabia leads the Middle East and Africa. The US leads the Americas.

CoStar, an online provider of real estate marketplaces, has reported that the global hotel pipeline is increasing, except for Europe. Europe saw a 1.2% drop in the total number of contracts under consideration at the end the first quarter despite an increase in the number of rooms under construction.

Germany leads Europe in the number of rooms under construction with 26,117, followed closely by the UK. Asia-Pacific, however, showed a promising increase of 7.3% in total contracts. China, Vietnam and India led the construction activity.

Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, have the largest number of rooms in construction. This is despite the fact that the total region has decreased by 7.0%.

The Americas experienced a 5.0% rise in the total number of contracts. The US accounted for the largest share of the rooms under construction, followed closely by Mexico, Canada and Brazil. The data highlights regional differences in hotel construction, highlighting key growth areas as well as potential challenges for the global hotel industry.
