SLS The Red Sea named Glenn Waidande its new director of Revenue Management. He will join the pre-opening committee and bring 16 years of experience in hospitality to his new role.
Waidande started his career as a trainee at age 18 and progressed to senior positions in the revenue strategy in multiple international markets. Early positions included Shangri-La and Starwood India, Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas Thailand, and Dusit Hotels and Resorts Qatar.
He was most recently the director of revenue strategy for Dusit’s multi-property properties, where he managed 549 keys in two Doha properties. He managed the inventory, pricing and forecasting strategies, as well as distribution strategies, for rooms, spas, food and beverages, and event spaces. He led revenue optimisation using tools such as STR, Sabre SynXis OTA Insights and Duetto/IDeaS G3, delivering constant revenue growth and market shares gains.
His career highlights include: maintaining the best departmental results for two years consecutively in Thailand; achieving revenue targets for the FIFA project in Qatar, by clustering properties to maximize market share; and driving a 22 percent revenue growth year-on-year during the COVID-19 time period.
Waidande is in charge of defining and executing the revenue strategies at SLS The Red Sea. The 150-key property includes high-end living rooms, branded apartments, and numerous food and beverage outlets.
Ses responsibilities include dynamic pricing, forecasting and performance analysis as well as cross-departmental cooperation to align revenue initiatives to broader market and operational objectives. This includes pre-opening plans and strategy implementation under the Royal Commission’s Vision 2030 Tourism framework.
