Four Seasons announces the opening a new complex of hotels in Seville. The move strengthens its presence in Spain as well as Europe. The project is aimed at transforming a historic building to a luxury hotel. It marks an important milestone for Seville in the high-end tourism sector.
Seville now has a luxury hotel.
Four Seasons chose Seville as the third hotel to be opened in Spain after Madrid. Majorca. The hotel is located in the historical Generali building in the Plaza Nueva – one of the most iconic squares in the city.
The project is expected to be completed with 60 rooms by 2027. It represents an investment in excess of 80 million euros.
As part of Group’s expansion to upmarket destinations the future hotel will include gastronomic and meeting areas, a wellbeing area, and services tailored for both business and pleasure travellers.
Transforming the historical heritage
The project will involve the complete transformation of the Generali building, constructed in the 1940s by the architect Galnares Sagastizábal. This hotel will be the nerve centre of luxury tourism in Seville.
The hotel design will integrate all the architectural features of the city into its structure. It is one of the goals to renovate this site and make it the model of excellence in Spain for high-end tourism.
Economic and social impact on the city
Four Seasons Seville’s property is expected to positively impact the local economy through the creation of jobs and the development of the tourism industry.
The Mayor said that “the city’s strategic plan is based on the promotion of its heritage, culture, and local identity and the arrival the Four Seasons hotel is an example”. The Four Seasons will raise the profile and attract investment to the region and city.
Apart from the economic benefits of refurbishing the Generali Building, it will also help revitalise Plaza Nueva. It will transform the urban environment, making Seville a destination that is highly sought after by investors and travellers.
This project is the culmination of Four Seasons’ offer in Spain. It marks a new stage in its European expansion and consolidates Four Seasons’s presence on key markets.
