Expedia Group has felt the decline in demand for travel into the U.S.
The company reported that the U.S. accounted for two thirds of its business, and that the number of inbound travelers dropped by 7% during the quarter. Inbound bookings to Canada have dropped by 30%. Europeans are now choosing to travel to Latin America.
Ariane Gordon, CEO of Ariane Group, told investors in a conference call on Thursday that the U.S. market was weak due to a decline in consumer sentiment.
Expedia’s full-year earnings have been reduced due to the economic uncertainty that continues.
