Expedia Group celebrates Global Travel Adviser Day with a series of events around the globe to show its appreciation and recognition for the Expedia TAAP Travel Agent Partners and their vital role in the travel eco-system.
Expedia Group organizes exclusive celebrations including breakfasts, lunches, and evening vreceptions across key markets such as the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, UK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, China, and Japan.
These events provide a unique opportunity to thank travel agents for their contribution, share exciting updates and show our appreciation. Expedia Group is also showcasing new products and enhancements for its Expedia TAAP booking platform. This global booking platform connects travel agents with Expedia’s extensive portfolio of hotels and holiday rentals as well as flights, packages and car hire.
Robin Lawther Vice President, Expedia TAAP said: “Global Travel Adviser’s Day is a chance for Expedia Group and its travel agent partners to celebrate the industry. With today’s announcement we are reinforcing commitment to our agents by expanding into new market and launching initiatives which help them attract customers, personalise their experiences, and grow their business. We empower them to thrive by investing in tools which improve cash flow management, and create new revenue streams.
Launching new markets and expanding supply
Expedia TAAP US agents can now book Southwest Airlines flight, further enhancing its value. Agents can easily search, compare, and book flights with multiple connectivity sources, including GDS and direct airline connections. Bundled packages and other perks give travellers even more flexibility. Expedia TAAP expands its presence in UAE to support travel agents. This expansion is a reflection of the company’s dedication to providing Middle Eastern partners access to an extensive travel inventory, and unlocking revenue opportunities.
Maximum earnings and flexible payment options
Expedia TAAP introduced the agency fee at most points of sale to empower travel agents. This allows agents to charge a fee on top of their commission for lodging. This feature allows agents to be compensated for their expertise, in addition to the regular commission, when the booking is completed, without having to make a separate transaction.
Expedia TAAP offers deferred payment for travel agents since its inception. This allows them to book and pay later while managing their cash flow. In addition, the new enhancements offer agents even more control by allowing them to book accommodations up 365 days ahead of time and to change their itinerary post-booking.
Expedia TAAP accepts bank transfer payments in areas where it is popular. Expedia TAAP will continue to prioritize travel agents and agencies on Global Travel Adviser’s Day and beyond by investing consistently in improvements and providing ongoing support.
