However, women traveling solo often have to take additional precautions to ensure they can enjoy a trip without worry—and that can sometimes include considering some destinations over others. InsureMyTrip offers some tips for women who plan to travel alone in the coming year.
The comparison site for travel insurance updated its list of best cities in March. In order to find the best destinations for female solo travelers, the company conducted a study on 62 cities. It evaluated each city based on factors such as women’s safety and tourism statistics. The company also used statistics sourced from an online database NumbeoIt also looked at metrics such as “feeling secure despite gender” or “feeling comfortable walking alone in the dark.” It also cited information from the World Economic Forum Georgetown Institute Women, Peace, and Security Index.

“Despite being one of the most expensive cities—with an average cost of $289 per day, it has the largest social media presence with more than 35 million mentions on TikTok, while also having high ratings for hotels and things to do,” the report stated. Dubai is the safest city for women, with a rating of 85.23 out 100.
Dubai has also moved up four places from InsureMyTrip’s list for 2024, showing an upward trend. The city ranked ninth showed the greatest improvement.
The findings stated that Singapore has risen 52 places, to ninth place.
Other top cities on the list include Kraków, Poland, which ranked in second place this year, up from 12th in 2024. The top five cities were Madrid, Spain, Munich, Germany, and Chiang Mai in Thailand.
