New York City’s most busy travel hub is about to add a new area for passengers.
Capital One’s flagship Capital One Lounge opened today at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Terminal 4 has a new shopping area. The 13,500 square-foot space pays homage to New York City. Many of the design choices and vendors are inspired by the spirit of New York City.
The space was developed in partnership with New York City’s businesses and artisans. New York City features include a dining area inspired by Central Park, a Manhattan style bar, and displays displaying over 40 pieces of art created by New York artists. The lounge has large windows offering a panoramic view of the runway.
Travelers enjoying the lounge will be able to snack on locally sourced grab-and-go options, including a bodega-style espresso bar with bagels from Ess-a-Bagel and espresso from Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters, as well as many other sandwich, wrap, salad, pastry, and small plates options. Capital One’s Daily Rituals will be available via roaming trolley carts. A “Midnight Snack,” ritual, at 12:30 am to honor the spirit and energy of the city which never sleeps, is served.
Capital One and the famous Manhattan-based Murray’s Cheese created a unique cheesemonger experience for the lounge. Travelers will be able to enjoy cheese and charcuterie tastings on a daily first-come-first-served base.
The full-service bar features craft cocktails inspired by local ingredients. The lounge will offer a selection of New York wines and beers, including Skyscraper IPA, the “Perfect Airport Beer” at JFK, and TALEA Beer Co. Selections, as well non-alcoholic beverages. Capital One Lounges offer the Rare Bottle Club where customers can purchase hard-to find and rare liquors, and sample an unusual selection of alcohol they wouldn’t have access to elsewhere.
There are also two private rooms in the lounge, as well as a room for parents and caregivers. The shower suite is luxurious, with Dyson hairdryers and other hotel touches. In the lounge, there is free Wi-Fi. Filtered water can be used to refill bottles. Venture X cardholders, as well as Venture X Business cardholders, can access Capital One lounges at no additional cost. Non-cardholders are allowed to access the lounge at $90 per person if they have a valid flight boarding pass.
