The State of California has filed a lawsuit in opposition to Airbnb for alleged price-gouging following the Palisades and Eaton wildfires in early January, and for persevering with to incorrectly label pretend or nonexistent hosts and properties as “verified.”
The state is searching for to cease Airbnb from price-gouging — elevating rental charges by greater than 10% — in future states of emergency. And it needs to ban Airbnb from participating in allegedly unfair and fraudulent enterprise practices comparable to claiming that hosts and properties are verified when they aren’t.
