Moving to a place where your money goes further is the easy way out. According to a list published by International LivingAs a senior, you’ll find that there are many places to live for $1,500 monthly.
“While the costs of everyday life may be rising back home, there are places overseas where $1,500 a month covers you for housing, healthcare, food, fun … the whole nine yards,” the website dedicated to helping expats live their best lives, shared. “And this is just for a pair.” You can get these places for less if you are traveling alone.
According to the website, the Iberian Peninsula is the most populous region in the world. affordable retirement living. It named Bragança, a city in northern Portugal, as a top spot thanks to its furnished apartments, which can be rented for about $400 to $500 a month.

International Living revealed that you can get a meal for $8.50 a person at an affordable restaurant. You’ll also find groceries to be very reasonable, as a liter of dairy, a loaf or bread, 12 eggs, 1 pound of beef and cheese, as well as a wine bottle, all costing less than $15. International Living said that utilities (electricity and phone) average $175. A couple can still live comfortably on a budget of $1,500 while having money for savings and travel.
Oviedo is one of three Spanish destinations that join Portugal. It’s close to the Bay of Biscay and offers a furnished, one-bedroom apartment at a cost of $630 a month. The average monthly utility bill is $185. A monthly pass for public transport costs just $34. Alicante is also on the list. Here, you can find a city apartment, or one with an ocean view, for less that $700 per month. Granada in Spain rounded off the list. Here, you can rent a city apartment at a cost of $600 a monthly and the average cost of living is only $1,000 a year for two people.
