Portugal: Andaz Has announced that its Lisbon property will open its doors to its first guests during Q4 of 2025.
The brand’s first property in Portugal is located on Rua do Comércio, close to some of Lisbon‘s most emblematic landmarks, including the Rua Augusta Arch and the Praça do Comércio.
Cajetan Araujo is a global hospitality expert with over two decades’ experience. He brings to the hotel “a dynamic style of leadership and a passion for design and culture, culinary, and guest experience”. Prior to joining Andaz Lisbon, he served as GM at W Algarve Hotel & Residences, where he led the launch of the brand’s first property in Portugal. In addition to W Goa, he has held senior positions at St. Regis Hotels Doha and Mumbai as well as Miami’s Bal Harbour.
Araujo stated that “Andaz Lisbon was more than a mere hotel. It is a statement of intention.” It’s the first in a new generation Of Andaz Properties, designed to reflect its surroundings, inspire meaningful connection, and empower guests with curiosity and confidence to explore. Andaz Lisbon will feature 170 guest rooms and suites, ranging from 22 to 99 square metres, with views of Lisbon landmarks including São Jorge Castle, Praça do Comércio and the river Tagus.
The rooftop terrace and restaurant will feature modern Lusitanian food inspired by Portugal’s heritage. Live music, DJs, and crafted cocktail recipes will be available.
The Andaz Lounge will be a “social center inspired by Lisbon’s beloved kiosks”, offering Portuguese street food, local beer and spirits, as well as artisanal coffee.
