Travelers can get to know the city’s complex and rich history with a tour guide. Some tours, however, do not neglect to tell the stories about influential women from Roman history and mythology. L’Archivio di Monserrato has two floors and is located in the Via di Monserrato passageway, across the Tiber. The Argentinian designer Soledad Twombly has curated a collection of clothing, textiles and antiques from all over the world.

You can also use this as a way to get in touch with your local community. osterias The Romans are great for an authentic experience. However, my girlfriends prefer places run by women that serve updated culinary classics within a modern space. Sarah Cicolini, the chef and owner of SantoPalato places a high priority on quality ingredients and minimizing waste when serving up revitalized Italian favorites. Francesca Barreca’s Mazzo modern trattoria offers generous servings of hearty Roman fare in an upscale environment. You’ll enjoy a great meal at either restaurant. Both restaurants have extensive wine lists, cool decor and a tasty menu.
