AHLA Foundation At its annual No Room for Trafficking (NRFT Summit) to advance best practices, reaffirm industry commitment to fighting human trafficking by collaboration, education, and resources for survivors.
The foundation announced its 2025-2026 NRFT Survivor Fund grant recipients at the event. These grants provide funding for organizations providing services and resources to support survivors in their journey forward. The event took place in conjunction with the United Nations World Day against Trafficking in Persons.
“For years, the No Room for Trafficking initiative has leveraged our resources to unite the hotel industry against human trafficking,” said Kevin Carey, AHLA Foundation president/CEO. The NRFT Summit is a powerful call to action, bringing the hotel industry together with our partners in order to drive meaningful change.
The summit included several keynotes, panel discussions and sessions with industry stakeholders and vendors focused on amplifying efforts to prevent human trafficking.
The NRFT Survivor Fund continues its vital support for community-based anti-human-trafficking organizations and initiatives. Since 2023, more than 2.35 million dollars have been awarded to 27 organizations in the United States. The grantees for this year include two survivor founded organizations, as well as several other organizations that are advancing survivor support and prevention efforts.

The NRFT Advisory Council is composed of 12 hospitality leaders who guide the AHLA Foundation in its efforts to combat human slavery.
“The organizations supported through the No Room for Trafficking Survivor Fund are doing critical work to prevent human trafficking and support survivors on their path forward,” said Joan Bottarini, CFO, Hyatt and chair of the NRFT Advisory Council. “Their expertise, especially the voices of those with lived experience, continues to shape how our industry shows up as part of the solution to this global crisis.”
The NRFT Advisory Council and Survivor Fund supporting companies includes Aimbridge, Choice Hotels, Extended Stay America, Hilton Global Foundation, Hyatt Hotels Foundation, IHG Hotels & Resorts, The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation, Marriott International, Real Hospitality Group, Red Roof, Sonesta, Summit Foundation, Vision Hospitality Group, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
