Since the beginning of 2020, Hospitality Action has made a substantial impact: spending over £5 million in financial support, awarding more than 15,000 grants, answering over 38,000 helpline calls, and delivering almost 12,000 counselling sessions. They have helped tens and thousands of industry professionals, as well as their families, through difficult times.
Agilysys has become one of the first hospitality tech providers to formally join Hospitality Action. What we do
The hospitality industry is no different from any other profession. Behind the smiles and polished service, workers in this field can also face hard times. It’s a demanding industry with long working hours, high-pressure environments, and physical demands. Since 1837, we have been providing services to chefs, waiters and housekeepers. We have been here for kitchen porters, concierges and receptionists. We have been there for every bartender, sommelier (and their assistants), caterer, and cook in the UK.
Hospitality Action, our industry and the people that work in it have all experienced a transformation over the last four years. In 2020, we were one of the UK’s first charities to respond to the Covid- 19 Pandemic. Our charity kept pace with each wave of business closures that accompanied the reopening of hotels and the unpredictable nature of employment patterns. As the cost-of living crisis continues to affect the healthcare industry, our grant-giving and EAP services continue to change to meet these ever-changing needs.
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, the charity has awarded more than 15,000 hardship grants totalling over £5 million to hospitality households across the UK, answered 38,000+ helpline calls and delivered 11,300+ counselling sessions.
