Human resources is important to Hospitality America. It’s with that shared mindset that Adam Bullard joins the third-party hotel management company as Corporate Director of Human Resources. This position is crucial in the hotel industry as operators try to combat challenges like high employee turnover, customer-service demands, and diverse workforces at multiple locations. Bullard’s role will be to navigate the complexities of managing 20 Hilton and Marriott hotels for a growing company.

Background with a Strong and Unconventional Character
Bullard brings a rich and diverse background to Hospitality America. Former Minor League Baseball Player, his career changed after an accident. He has held several HR leadership roles in the automotive, manufacturing and consulting industries. He is passionate about creating strong teams and thrives in collaborative settings. With a master’s degree in Ministerial/Organizational Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in management, Bullard is skilled in developing effective recruitment strategies, streamlining onboarding, and enhancing retention through career development and employee engagement. He has also guided organizations through crisis and change, supporting their people while supporting operations.

Bullard has been working on:
- Tell employees what Hospitality America does and for whom they work. Bullard believes that each employee should understand the history of the business from the time they join. Each employee must understand the importance of their role and how it impacts the success of the business.
- Employees on hourly pay and those who are salaried should receive ongoing training and be given the tools to help them grow within the company.
- Visit every property and meet each team member personally. Sit down with managers and employees and get to know them better than just their name tags or employee numbers. His goal is to have meaningful conversations that offer insight into each person and their role—demonstrating that Hospitality America is committed to supporting their development and success.
Bullard stated, “As I begin this new role, I will use better training, more clear communication, and a stronger workplace culture to increase productivity and improve guest experience.” With good HR practices, Hospitality America’s job market will be more attractive. This will increase the quality of hiring and reduce recruitment costs. My plan is leverage HR analytics in order to make better informed decisions regarding labor costs, turnover and performance. To identify and develop leaders for the future through succession plans that will ensure continuity and continued growth.”
Bullard commutes from Easley to Greenville with his family. A fourth child will be born in September. Bullard loves to spend time with his wife and three children when he is not working. He is also heavily involved in the church and community.
