Building on a tradition of excellence philanthropy at EHL(Em-)Power On is a transformative project that will provide long-term, steady funding for academic advancements. The endowment fund is a transformative approach compared to previous fundraising campaigns, which distributed donations annually. It generates perpetual returns, creating a lasting legacy and meaningful impact for the future generations.
Our goal will be to provide students, faculty members, and the community with sustainable and long-term financial support that will enable them to push boundaries in hospitality education. This initiative is all about creating a lasting change to allow students to pursue ambitions free of financial constraints, and fuel innovation in the hospitality industry. One possible outcome of this initiative is that the endowment funds will provide full scholarships to 10% of students covering their four-year academic journey. Cinzia Torriani is a scholarship-recipient and final-year EHL student. Reflections on the impact of financial assistance: The foundation has been a great support to me. Without it, I would not be where I am today, and my journey would have had a much harder time. In addition to financial assistance, the emotional encouragement provided by the foundation has helped shape my professional and personal growth.
The endowment fund, in addition to scholarships, will support research that challenges current practices and creates meaningful change within the hospitality industry and its surrounding industries. EHL’s visionary minds are able to support projects that improve industry practices, explore emerging technologies, and create cutting-edge solutions which redefine the guest experience.
A Legacy in Philanthropy & Community Engagement
EHL’s culture is philanthropic and dates back to the year 1942, when alumni came together to help ensure the survival of the school in the wake of World War II. Their generosity laid the foundation for a long-standing tradition of giving back—one that continues to flourish today through the (Em)Power on campaign.
The campaign is aimed at honoring 5,000 donors. This will create a strong community spirit and ensure that every donation makes a difference. Lombard Odier, an investment house that specializes on responsible asset management and is known for its ethical investment practices, manages the fund professionally.
EHL invites all alumni, leaders in the industry, and supporters to take part in this transformative journey. Donors who participate in (Em/Power on will have a major impact in the future of hospitality, equal opportunity, and education.
