    Dallas is the U.S. market with the largest hotel construction pipeline in Q1 of 2025

    According to Lodging Economical’s report, Dallas had the biggest hotel construction pipeline among U.S. market in Q1 of 2025. Atlanta was followed by Nashville, Phoenix and Austin. 

    Lodging Econometrics The U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Report was published by (LE) in the last quarter of 2025. It highlights the major hotel markets of the United States.

    Dallas, which has 203 projects with 24,496 rooms and is the leader of the list (YoY), is the city that tops this list. Atlanta, Nashville Phoenix, and Austin all reached new records for project and rooms totals.

    The report also revealed which markets have the most construction projects. New York is the leader with 39 projects and 7,064 bedrooms, followed by Phoenix. Dallas, Atlanta and Inland Empire.

    Dallas is again the leader in the number of projects to be started within the next twelve months. Atlanta, Nashville and Austin are close behind.

    Dallas, Atlanta, Austin Nashville and the Inland Empire are the next most popular cities with projects that are in the planning stage.

    The report sheds light on some notable markets, such as Raleigh-Durham or Saint Louis. Both have achieved new project and room records.

    Washington DC is the leader in combined projects. Charlotte, Atlanta and Houston are also on the list.

    In the first quarter of 2025, there were 138 new projects in the top 50 U.S. cities. These projects will total 19,800 rooms. Dallas, Austin and New York were the top three new project announcements.

    In the U.S., 161 new hotel rooms and 18 767 rooms were opened in the first quarter of the year. Atlanta, Dallas, New York, and Los Angeles were the three markets that saw the most openings. LE expects that an additional 579 hotels/64.781 rooms will open in the U.S. between Q2 and Q4 2025.

    LE estimates that by the end of 2026, 848 hotels and 92,892 new rooms will be opened in the U.S. Dallas, Atlanta Phoenix and the Inland Empire are expected to lead new hotel openings.
