If you’re anything like me, then you too enjoy the après part of skiing more than the actual skiing itself. Even though you enjoy the cold and snowy air, you might feel awkward when planning a winter vacation to a destination known for its slopes. That’s how I felt, at least before I went for my winter vacation. Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The people I knew all had good things to share about this small town that is no longer so small. Jackson Hole has been called a gateway for both the west and east. Grand Teton National Park The following are some examples of how to get started: Yellowstone National Park Yellowstone alone had over 4.7m visitors in 2024. But it’s best known for its fluffy powder, and for runs such as Corbet’s Couloir. It’s one of North America’s most famous and challenging chutes. Let’s just say adrenaline rushes are not my thing—but I still love winter weather, and I was excited to see how I could fill my days.
Here are some ideas for a weekend away in Jackson Hole, even if you do not ski.

National Parks: Explore them
Your first glimpse of the Tetons, and the magnificent landscape that surrounds Jackson Hole will be when you land. As soon as I checked in at the historic Wort Hotel, my friend and I met up. EcoTour Adventures Grand Teton National Park was the perfect place to start my day. Our driver drove us around the park in a van that had a removable top so we could see wildlife. As I munched on local snacks and sipped hot cocoa, we saw bald eagles, moose, elk, and bison—some even came right up to the van. We could also borrow the high-powered scope from our guide if we wished to see more closely. He also used his knowledge and tracking skills to get us a glimpse at the elusive gray wolves.

Okay, so maybe I’m not going to send it down Corbet’s Couloir—but I do still have a bit of an adventurous streak.
Booking a trip to a new place was a great way to step out of my usual comfort zone. Women’s Snowmobile Clinic You can also find out more about Uncharted SocietyThe outfitter specializes in power sports rentals and guided experiences. I started out the day nervous about my lack of skills and the thought of riding such a intimidating machine. The day ended with me feeling proud of my accomplishments (and a little exhausted). Naturally, after spending all day standing up on a ski-doo I was sore. What could be better than a spa retreat to help you rejuvenate? Massages sounded wonderful to me.
Then, I went to The Grandview Spa Snow King Mountain Resort has a spa that is 9,000 square feet in size, making it one of Jackson Hole’s largest. The spa at Snow King Mountain Resort has treatment rooms, saunas, outdoor hot tubs with views of the mountains (my favorite), as well as Wyoming’s first halotherapy sal lounge. I knew that my day would be filled with relaxation. After a Grand View Signature Massage and some time in the halotherapy salt lounge, I was ready for more adventure. I then took the scenic Gondola up to the mountain to enjoy some stargazing. Snow King Observatory & Planetarium. I came specifically to see the Planewave telescope—I was told it even made Bill Nye (of “Science Guy” fame) let out an, “Oh wow!

Jackson Hole’s food and drinks scene is fantastic. Jackson Hole has a great variety of restaurants that are popular with both visitors and locals.
The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is a must-see. It’s located right in the center of town. After a hearty meal at the steakhouse, head up to the bar and grab a seat. Jump on the dancefloor with some cowboys.
Persephone Bakery in the local area is another must-try. I changed my morning walks to ensure I could stop for fresh bread and pastries. I also loved Code Red Tacos and Cowboy Coffee. Bin22 is a tapas restaurant hidden behind a wine shop.
