The panels will cover the public policies that are needed to support major sporting events, tourism, and the next generation of travel technology innovators.
The Travel Technology Association announced that they would be hosting a panel discussion at the second annual Policy and Innovation Showcase. This will take place on May 7, 2013.Th The Cannon Caucus Room will be open from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
“We are excited to offer two panel discussions at Travel Tech’s Policy & Innovation Showcase this year. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 LA Olympics on the horizon, we’ll discuss preparations for these events and how policymakers can support their success,” said Laura Chadwick, president & CEO. The second panel, which will be held on Wednesday, will focus on the policies that are needed to help travel technology startups.
First Panel (5.10 – 5:30 PM)
“From Stadium to stay: Building a better travel experience to support mega sports events,” The panel will discuss the role that travel technology platforms play in facilitating sport tourism. They will also examine key lessons learned from previous global sporting events. Panelists:

- Laura Chadwick is the President and CEO of Travel Tech.
Second Panel (5.35 – 5.55 pm)
“Navigating Unique Needs of Travel Tech Start-ups,” will focus on unique needs and challenges facing travel tech startups—from accessing capital to navigating the complex tax and regulatory landscapes. Panelists will include:
- Tomasz Pawliszyn CEO of AirHelp
- Branda Fan, founder and CEO, Nowy
- Cara Whitehill is Vice President of Thayer Investment Partners.
- Brandon Palumbo as moderator, Director of Policy and Government Relations at Travel Tech.
