B.Simone Barlaam was born in Milan, Italy in 2000. She is a Paralympic swimming champion and 13-times world champion. In 2024, she will compete in the Paris Olympics, where she will win three gold medals and one silver. He is the torchbearer, ambassador and spokesperson for the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games. The games will be held from 6-22.02. (The Paralympic Games will run from 6.15.03.) and include events in Lombardy as well as north-east Italy. He was also a graphic designer The games are free.
Barlaam is from Milan and currently lives in NoLo, a vibrant neighbourhood with a lot of artistic flair. “I can show you my favourite places in the city, because I’ve lived everywhere,” he says. Here, he selects his favourite places, besides obvious sights like the Duomo opera house, the Quadrilatero Della Moda district, and the Duomo.
Food
After a hard training session, I like to go to this lovely pastry shop near my pool with my teammates: Pasticceria Grossi in Piazzale Udine. This is the best place to get coffee.
I like Panificio Storico Vailati on Via Vitruvio because the pastries are lovely, and it’s welcoming and warm – they treat you as if they’ve known you for the last 30 years.
Pizzeria da Mimmo My parents used to always take us to Chinatown for lunch. It’s small and the pizzas are fluffy, thick and very soft. Every time I go, I feel like I am a kid.
While I was a student at the Politecnico di Milano I would often go to Grano e in Viale Romagna. The food there is cheap and delicious. If I’m feeling like treating myself, I head to Ratanà On Via Gaetano de Castilla, my friend and chef Cesare Battisti has a restaurant. It offers traditional dishes, such as mondeghiliI also love a Vietnamese restaurant called. I love the Vietnamese restaurant called Vietnam Mon AmourWhere I used to study. It’s small and the food is incredible.
Neighbourhood
Via Paolo SarpiIn Chinatown, is a must. It comes alive at night. There are so many places to eat – restaurants as well as amazing street food places. There are a few karaoke places too – it’s fun to go with your friends and just sing and make a fool out of yourself.

Milan is Giorgio Armani’s city, and Giorgio has left a huge legacy in this city. It is an amazing honour to have created a race suit together. The line of people waiting to say goodbye at the funeral was miles long. It was a testament to how much people loved Giorgio and how his memory affected the city.

It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. Acquario Civico di MilanoThe aquarium was constructed in the early twentieth century. The building is decorated with sculptures of fish and sea life. A part of the aquarium, which has freshwater fish, is located outside. Most of it is dedicated to Italian aquatic habitats, but there’s also a small tropical aquarium. What I love about water is the sense of freedom it gives me, because obviously, for a person with a disability, I’m very clumsy and not very graceful on land – but in the water, I’m fast and can be agile. It’s almost like you are flying. I could watch a swimming fish for hours, it is mesmerising. Swimming creatures give me peace, and I cannot express it in words.
Green space
Milan has many little green parks. Parco Sempione It’s one of the most beautiful and is connected to the medieval Castello Sforzesco. The Arco della Pace triumphal arch and the excellent Museum of Triennale. It has so many cool events – live music, concerts, exhibitions – they are displaying original Olympic posters The deadline for submitting your application is 15 March.
Accessibility
Milan is accessible for the most part. Milan is flat, and many renovations have taken place in the city due to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The metro stop right in front of my home has finally been upgraded with an elevator. We cannot stop there. We must continue to improve. Milan, like the rest of Italy, is filled with old buildings that are in need of accessibility.
Culture
Milan is known for its museums and culture, but it also has many hidden gems. L.O.V.E., for example, is one. Maurizio Catelan is a contemporary artist who created a statue. The statue is a gigantic middle finger in front of Milan’s stock exchange, but not many tourists visit it. The statue is made of marble, but it looks so different from classical buildings. It’s like it’s saying “screw” to the Milan Stock Exchange building, which was constructed during the Ventennio (Italy’s fascist dictatorship).
The Museum of Natural History is another museum that I like. MudecThe Museum of Cultures of Milan. The Museum of Cultures in Milan Museum of Natural History It’s a tiny building, but it is in a beautiful setting in a beautiful garden. On the weekends, it is crowded with children. I was once one of them, I went there all the time. There are life-size dinosaur models outside. It’s incredible to think that dinosaurs once roamed on the land of Milan.
