Vrbo has announced that it will begin imposing 100% penalties on hosts in the U.S. who fail to provide guests with access to their reserved homes.
New policy begins on October 1. It applies to most cases where a guest’s access is denied: malicious intent, miscommunication or “an unexpected obstacle.” The fines are based on the amount booked: a booking of $500 will incur a penalty of $500, and a booking for $5,000 will be charged a fine $5,000.
Vrbo can also suspend a property temporarily and cancel any future bookings.
