    When people think about popular outdoor destinations in AsiaThe rugged mountains of Bhutan, Kumano Kodo in Japan, and Thailand’s jungles and beaches may be the first to come to mind. Southeast Asia’s often-overlooked country, however, is fast becoming a rising superstar.

    A new study by an online tour operator has revealed some interesting findings. Exoticca.comFor its study, Exoticca analysed AllTrails data for 11 countries: Brunei (the country), Cambodia, Timor Leste, Indonesia, Laos Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Timor Leste.     Exoticca.com’s spokesperson, in a press release obtained by Travel + Leisure. The data show that hikers prefer trails that combine natural beauty with accessibility.

    Although Malaysia topped the list, there was one trail that stood out as the best in Southeast Asia. Bukit Gasing Circular, Leafy loops in Malaysia’s Capital Region

    The 2.4-mile loop, which is located in the Bukit gasing Forest Park, runs between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. It takes approximately one hour to complete. Bukit Gasing Circle has a medium rating on AllTrails. It is a mixture of open, flat paths and challenging staircases. Hikers noted “killer steps”, hidden hanging bridges and elevated wooden platforms on the route.

    Exoticca’s study found that Bukit Gasing Circular earned 98.4 of 100 possible points. This was due to the 4.6-star rating from 2,225 hiking enthusiasts and a nearly perfect 99.6 per cent popularity score. The second place went to Bukit Kiara via Changkat Abang Haji Openg The path (96.73) is a 2.8 mile route that connects several popular green spaces On the outskirts Kuala Lumpur. The interconnected Twin Peaks–Quill Killer–Rock Garden–Lower Carnival The third place winner, network (95 points), is a 2.9 mile web of trails that includes shaded stretches and steady inclines through dense forest. This winner is located close to Kuala Lumpur.

    Even shorter treks, such as the 1.4-mile trek, received high ratings. Ketumbar Hill This trail, located in Kuala Lumpur’s Cheras district, was rated at 98.9 percent popular and scored 93.9%. This trail is well-known for its city views and easy access. It’s a popular choice among early morning walkers. 

    Thailand has broken Malaysia’s streak of 4.5 miles Wat Pha Lat “Monk’s Trail” Doi Suthep, in Chiang Mai was ranked fifth. 

    All of the other top 10 are also from Malaysia. Sixth place was taken by Sri Bintang HillThe 1.4-mile trail is popular in Kuala Lumpur for its sunrise views. Seventh was the Bukit Gasing Fence Trail Loop, Another scenic circuit within Bukit Gasing Forest Reserve. Tiga Puteri Peak Via Merbuk was ranked eighth, with a climb of 3.7 miles to a summit view in Selangor. Mount Datuk Nineth on the list was the Negeri Sembilan trail, with its rock scrambles. The tenth place on the list was taken by the Taman Tugu Green–Yellow–White TrailsThe 2.3 mile loop is located in Kuala Lumpur’s urban forest.
