AirHelp, a flight compensation online service, has been releasing its AirHelp Score annually for the last 10 years to identify the best airports in the world. The Beehive State ranked first in AirHelp’s 2025 report which included more than 200 airports around the world.
Salt Lake City International Airport, which serves Utah’s capital city, was named as the best airport in America. It also ranked eighth globally, with an impressive 8.29 out 10.
Salt Lake City International Airport has a strong performance that can be attributed to more than just its infrastructure. punctual flights—84 percent of which arrive on time—but also to recent infrastructure upgrades and a traveler-focused design. The new terminal of the airport is called The New SLCThe project is expected to be completed in 2026.
Designed by an architecture firm Hok, the $5 billion project replaces the outdated mid-20th-century terminals with a massive 909,000-square-foot central hub and two modern concourses, A and B. The New SLC, which currently has 45 gates available, will soon have 94. The terminal has a bright, spacious feel with glass walls of 50 feet that allow natural light to flood in and provide sweeping views.

AirHelp used millions of flight records to compile the report. They also analyzed government statistics and over 13,500 airport reviews. airport staff, cleanliness, and wait times There are 58 countries represented. The rankings were dominated by on-time performance, which accounted for 60% of the total score. However, the service quality, the availability of shopping and food options, and their respective 20 percent each, also played a key role.
