You love good food road tripIf you are like most people, you plan your route in advance and think about all the interesting things you will see on the way. Before you leave, it’s important to know which states are the best for driving through. If you’re a traffic-phobe, you might want to stay in the mainland.

WalletHub published its data in January analyzing which states are the best to drive through. It compared the states based on four key metrics, including the cost to own and maintain a vehicle (which included average gas prices), traffic patterns, infrastructure, safety and accessibility to vehicles. Each metric is then graded out of 100 points, and each state receives a weighted score.

Then, after examining all the information, it is named Kansas The best state for driving. The findings state that Kansas is the best for drivers due to its quality and safety roads. It also said that the state scored third highest for road quality among all states in the U.S., and that its roads were “flatter than pancakes” to increase safety.

The report also noted that Kansas residents commute by car in just under 20 minutes on average, the seventh-lowest time of any state. It suggests that even though the population is dispersed, people live close to work and do not get stuck in traffic. Kansas’ small population and large farmland are the reasons why it has the lowest rate of traffic congestion.

Kansas joins Kansas at the top. Idaho The state is ranked second because of its “success in reducing road deaths”. The state’s rate of traffic deaths decreased by almost 20 percent between 2021 and 2022, the most recent years that data was available. This is the largest percentage decrease in the nation. Idaho is also home to the fifth lowest prevalence of speeding as well as the fourth least prevalence of harsh brakes, making it an extremely safe place for drivers.

Indiana is the third-best state in terms of road quality, and has the ninth-lowest level of traffic congestion. It also takes road safety seriously with the fourth strictest driving laws. WalletHub reported that these factors had helped to improve driving conditions, with traffic deaths declining by 17 percent between the years 2021 and 2022. This is the third highest percentage.

Hawaii is the last place you should avoid driving due to frequent rain, a lack of shops for maintenance and high gasoline prices. If you’re driving in Hawaii, chances are that your vacation will still be a success. You can see all the results here wallethub.com.
