Leading up to International Primate Day on September 1, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the five-star sanctuary hidden on the Son Tra Peninsula in Central Vietnam, has designated August as Primate Appreciation Month to reaffirm its commitment to conservation. The month will feature a variety of activities that are designed to entertain, educate and inspire guests of all ages.
Primates are intelligent, social mammals that include monkeys, apes, and – us! Son Tra Peninsula has three primates species: the brown Macaque, nocturnal Slow Loris and the “Queen of the Primates“, the red shank douc langur. Around 2,500 doucs langurs are still in the wild, and approximately 1,000 of them live in Son Tra’s jungles. InterContinental Danang, as the protector of this pristine environment, plays a crucial role in protecting these primate populations.
Primate Appreciation Month Features a series themed experiences in August. These experiences range from mindfulness to mixology. There are also exciting kids activities that will inspire the next generation.
Monkey Yoga, Cocktails and New Programming at Green Hub
The resort’s Green Hub The exhibition area is dedicated to educating guests about the red-shanked duc langurs. During August, the venue will host regular talks and presentations by Mr. Trung Quân, the resident naturalist and former national park ranger, who will also ask guests to make a personal commitment to conservation. The resort’s уквалну Instructor has added fun and exciting new moves for wellness seekers to channel their inner simians and feel a connection with the forests, as well as a special primate-themed drinks menu The L_o_n_g bar at the resort offers banana splits and monkey cocktails made with locally-grown ingredients.
New Wildlife Expeditions & Monkey Bridge repairs
The new Son Tra Wildlife Expedition This tour (available twice a week through Next Continent Travel), will allow travellers to explore the forest in the company of wildlife experts, equipped with professional equipment, to observe the many animals, plants, and douc Langurs that are unique to Son Tra. In August, the resort will be upgrading its amenities. Monkey Bridges – a task undertaken every two years to maintain the network of five hand-woven bridges that let monkeys move freely through the jungle canopy and access their favourite feeding grounds.
Charles is back with the New M Club Tours and Wildlife Movies
InterContinental Danang M Club is an entertainment lounge located on the top floor of the resort. Charles is said by many to have lived here, and his influence can be found all over the resort. A new M Club Tour Bill Bensley, the maverick designer and architect of the resort, has brought its whimsical interiors to life, with monkey-themed artworks and furniture. A banana-themed private cinema was also created. This quirky cinema is also screening during Primate Awareness Month. Nature films Documentaries All ages.
