Everyone is looking for something different when it comes to vacations—some may want an adrenaline rush, others a deep cultural experience, and some people really just want to relax. Zenoti analyzed Google and Yelp data for its study (specifically the phrase “spas close to me”) and required that each city meet certain criteria in order to make the list. Each destination must have at minimum 20 Yelp spa listings, and the population data needed to calculate spa density.
After cities checked off all requirements, they were rated by a five-factor weighted rating based on the following: number of spas per person, average Yelp reviews, percentage of luxury spas within the area, percentage of affordable spas and volume of Google searches in 2025 for “spas nearby”.
When all that information is considered, Bath, U.K., was voted the best spa town in the world.
Bath’s first-place finish is no surprise to fans of historical romance novels. It is the most spa dense city in the entire world. In addition, it ranks highly for spa-related searches as well as luxury spa offerings. Bath is known for its mineral-rich, hot springs. Its history dates back to Roman Empire days.
You won’t need a passport for the second destination on the list. Palm Springs in California, which has been a favorite wellness destination for years, was ranked high for spa density as well as search volume. This means that you will be surrounded by other travelers searching for cupping, facials and deep tissue massaging. Miami, Florida was ranked third. South Florida’s city is ranked high for spa density, spa search volume and affordable spas. Finding a wellness retreat in this area should be relatively easy.
