    This year’s rustic-chic Lone Mountain Ranch unveiled Auric Room 1915Members-only supper clubs and venues where overnight guests can enjoy fried hen and 18-year-old Elijah Craig whiskey. The hotel, which has its roots in cattle ranches, still dedicates Thursday nights to the rodeo. This is a local favorite, with Montana beef brisket sandwich and lots of beer.

Montage Big Sky, which opened in 2021, expanded its lodging options last year with 47 new residences—including 15 freestanding Mountain Homes, each with five or six bedrooms—adding to the resort’s 100 original rooms and suites. All the hotel’s amenities are available to guests, including access to Crazy Mountain RanchThe ranch is a working cattle ranch of 18,000 acres with plenty of terrain for horseback rides, an 18-hole course and outdoor summer excursions such as heli-fly fishing tours which take guests along remote sections of the Yellowstone River and Missouri River.
