Ixigo, an online travel company, reported strong quarterly results, but Rajnish Kumar, the Group co-CEO, spent most of his time on Wednesday talking about AI.
He is particularly focused on the revenue per employee to determine whether the company’s efforts to embed tech throughout the entire organization are successful.
Ixigo has reported a quarterly revenue of INR 22,5 million ($255,000). In fiscal 2025 the revenue grew nearly 40%, but employee numbers grew less than 10%.
Kumar explained that “this is only possible when the team has the mentality to use AI and technology instead of simply hiring more people.”
Ixigo invested in AI in 2017 when it launched its virtual travel assistant, which could track a user’s location.
