BoatBooker has released a new report that highlights South Carolina’s hidden beaches, with Vereen Memorial Park at the top of the list.

South Carolina’s Vereen memorial park was named as the top hidden jewel by the boating website, which analysed Google Maps data using key terms such “secluded beach”, “hidden beach” and “quiet beach”, focusing on locations that had fewer than 100 customer reviews. The combined score of each beach was calculated based on the average rating as well as the number reviews.

California, with its nine beaches, is also highly praised, and Torrey Pines City Beach, in San Diego, which ranks No. 1, is the highest-ranking. 5. Dana Strands Beach was ranked No. 7 and Pirates cove Beach was ranked No. Pirates Cove Beach, at No. Eight rounds out the top 10.
The site stated that protected areas offer the most “pristine, uncrowded beach experiences in America.”
