Within the next two-years, a “Hygge”, themed hotel will be opening in Dubai. This new property, developed by the Dubai-based Kleindienst Group is named after hygge. A Scandinavian concept, it’s Danish origin conveys contentment, simplicity and quiet joy. The hotel is located in The Heart of Europe, on Dubai’s World Islands. It will open during the first half of 2020.
The 96 key hotel will have four restaurants and has been designed in a way that offers a sense calm, connection, and reflection through the use of spaces. The developer says that the hotel will focus on providing guests with experiences that prioritize comfort and warmth through design, service and atmosphere.
In order to achieve this, the hotel uses natural materials, and offers “intuitive service” in an effort to make guests feel comfortable, even if they are far from home. The hotel’s interiors will feature warm, understated colors, plenty of cozy corners for guests to relax, and communal areas to meet and connect. It will also have a sense that it is a place of peace and tranquility, from the wellness offerings to its food, which will use as many seasonal ingredients and be served in a familiar, welcoming manner.
HWKN, a design firm that uses modern technology in order to create a space with cultural resonance, will lead the architecture and interiors. HWKN is incorporating AI in its design process to help inform function and aesthetics. The goal is to create experiences that will push the limits of traditional hospitality environments.
Hygge Hotel joins a growing list of themed hospitality options at The Heart of Europe. The development, which is a six island project inspired by European culture and architectural styles, includes a number of themed offerings. The project focuses on sustainability and innovation. Hygge Hotel brings a more introspective and wellness-driven element to the destination.
The Heart of Europe’s website will allow you to register for the official launch of sales of units in the new hotel on 25th July 2025.
