Dishoom has opened its first ever overnight accommodation in London, above its Permit Room bar. The restaurant group is known for their Bombay-inspired interior design, and its cult following.
Launching its first hospitality venture, the brand extends its immersive dining into a residential setting. Priced at £700 (about $950) per night with a two-night minimum, the Permit Room Lodgings are not positioned as a traditional hotel. Instead, they’re seen as a way to test the brand’s appeal in terms of overnight stays.
“Well, in classic Dishoom fashion, we somewhat stumbled into the idea while designing Permit Room Portobello,” CEO Brian Trollip told Skift. The building itself is rich in history, as it was originally used for a variety of purposes.
