    Wyndham Is ‘Sprinting’ Towards Its 100-Hotel Mark in India

    Rahool Macarius told Skift that Wyndham is “sprinting to” the 100-hotel mark for India. He said that Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is “sprinting” to the 100-hotel mark in India. 

    Macarius rejoined Wyndham at the beginning of this year. Since then, eight hotels have been signed in the quarters April-June. He said that six hotels were signed in the last month. “Our growth is phenomenal.” “I have a lot of pipelines and I’m looking forward to reaching the 100-mark soon,” he said. He added that the company is likely to surpass this milestone “this year” or “definitely next.”

    The company is currently growing in Tier-2 cities and 3 cities of India, including Ambala, Ranchi Zirakpur Ghaziabad. “We’re one of those companies that didn’t rise or explore in the metros. We got traction by focusing on Tier-2 cities and 3. Macarius stated that many of the best leisure destinations are located in smaller cities. 

    Geoff Ballotti, Wyndham’s President and CEO, said earlier this year that India would be the country where the company will see the greatest growth in 2024. This is in terms of signing new hotels. He said that he also saw India as an opportunity. 

    Dimitris Manikis reaffirmed this in a Skift interview. Manikis explained that “the infrastructure development and blue collar worker who are traveling across the nation is where we will see the immense opportunity in the next couple of years.” 

    India is seeing a repetition of what’s already happened in China and the U.S. “It will happen here.” “It is inevitable,” he said. 

    Manikis says that India is now in a position to tell its story. “Indians should have explored the potential for which everyone had been talking for the last thirty years.”
