Marriott’s first luxury hotels will be built in Calgary, Canada. The project is worth $1.1 billion (1.47 billion Canadian dollars) and was developed by Truman.
Three hotels, totaling over 700 rooms, are included in the deal. These include a W Calgary tower of 69 stories, a JW Marriott Calgary property of 62 stories, and an Autograph Collection property with 320 keys.
This deal shows the importance of branded residences in hotel projects. Together, these properties will provide nearly 360 branded residential units alongside hotel rooms.
The signings are Marriott’s first luxury properties in Canada.
