Italy: Lifestyle brand W Hotels is part of Marriott International and has opened a new property in Florence, its second in Italy.
Located on Piazza dell’Unità Italiana, the W Florence is housed in the former Grand Hotel Majestic.
Genius Loci Architettura has restored the hotel and reimagined it to meet LEED Gold, WELL Silver and other sustainability standards. The project was also undertaken by global design firm AvroKO. They were previously responsible for the interiors of W Prague, and soon to be unveiled W Hoboken.
W Florence offers 119 guestrooms including 16 suites and a penthouse. It also features the W Lounge which has a partially covered central court, Tratto Italian Restaurant, Akira Back Korean Fusion Restaurant, and Zefiro Rooftop Restaurant, scheduled to open in the summer.
Other amenities include a fitness center and meeting rooms that can be configured to suit your needs.

The W Florence will join the W Rome, which was opened by the brand in Italy late 2021. Elsewhere in Italy, the W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu is expected to open later this year.
