UK: Independent hotel group Bespoke Hotels plans to open an accommodation in Newcastle. Hotel Gotham brandLocated in the former fire and police stations on Pilgrim street, this is a unique experience.
Announced in June last year, The plans for this Grade II listed property will be developed over two phases.
The first phase will launch in September, with 57 rooms including six suites at the old fire station.
The adjacent former police department will be transformed in 2026 into another 30 rooms including Gotham Sanctum Suites.
A glass corridor will connect the two buildings. In the former Court Rooms will be an events space for weddings or private functions up to 120 people.
Siren and Fire are two restaurants and bars inspired by the heritage of the building.
Club Brass will be Gotham’s exclusive members club. It will cover two floors.
Chris Thompson, General Manager at Hotel Gotham commented on the launch: “There’s no other event like this one in the North East.” Gotham is the place where heritage meets hedonism. Newcastle is a vibrant city with a lot of personality and energy, and this new space reflects it perfectly. We have worked hard to honor the history of these buildings, while creating something new and memorable.
“Whether they stay with us, dine at Siren or enjoy a cocktail at Fire, we’d like them to feel part of something unique from the moment that they walk through the front door. Every corridor, every cocktail and every corner tells a story – and this one belongs to Newcastle,” he added.
Highlights:
