The original designer of the resort is the driving force behind the project. Paul DuesingThe Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal’s refined enhancement will bring in modern influences, while still maintaining the iconic Mexican design and cultural heritage which guests have grown to love. The 112 new rooms, suites and casitas will be decorated in a neutral, lighter color scheme with calming tones and accents that add richness and depth. The rooms will feature custom furniture, accessories, and art by Mexican artists from Oaxaca to Baja California Sur and Jalisco. Each room’s centerpiece will be the signature metallic sea-turtle shell, which is handcrafted by Preciado Illuminacion of Jalisco and proudly displayed over each bed. This stunning piece pays tribute to the resort’s beloved symbol: Just as sea turtles return to their home, guests will always find their way back to the resort.
The property will introduce a rotating culinary activation at its upgraded Beach Club in addition to the complete redesign of all rooms. This will further enhance its list of authentic Mexican and world-class gastronomic offerings. These culinary activations will further complement the resort’s annual Festival of Flavors series, which has featured a legendary lineup of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, James Beard and Michelin-star-honored chefs such as Jaime Pesaque, Michael Mina, David Yoshimura, Claudette Zepeda, and more. Each guest chef will be invited to collaborate and cook with Executive Chef Gustavo Pinet, and the rest of his culinary team for a three-day gastronomic extravaganza.

The partnership will continue in 2026 with guests having the chance to join Alo Moves instructors for a three day curated retreat at the resort.
