    • AutoTrader’s latest report has revealed the friendliest drivers in the world.
    • The survey asked drivers to self-report their level of satisfaction while driving.
    • The U.K. drivers took the top spot, thanks to their politeness on the road and their habits of signaling and merging with others.

Put the pedal to metal for a road trip It is a very exciting experience. However, it can come with some stresses—namely in the form of other drivers who may honk or flash their lights if they think your driving isn’t up to par. There is a way to avoid this: create road trip routes that only include countries with the friendliest drivers.

AutoTrader’s list of the world’s friendliest drivers has been released. It includes all the best places for a road trip. The company said, “We were curious about which countries around the world had drivers who are generally more calm, happier and agreeable.”

AutoTrader surveyed drivers from all around the world to find out where they felt the most friendly. In particular, drivers were asked to rate their own friendliness based on statements taken from the Agreeableness part of the Big 5 Personality Test. That test measures traits like kindness, compassion, and cooperation. In the survey, drivers were asked if they had ever displayed “uncourteous driving behaviors.” The report used all of the collected data to determine which drivers in the world are the most “friendly” behind the wheels.

The U.K. has the friendliest motorists in the world, according to a self-reported study.

Findings revealed that with a score of 35.40, out of a possible 40 points, the U.K. was ranked as the nation with the most polite people. The findings revealed that British drivers are known for their strict adherence to traffic rules and their sense of courtesy. They signal well in advance, and allow others to merge into traffic.

AutoTrader said that “the U.K.’s comprehensive driving tests and emphasis on lane-discipline” could also boost its friendly qualities. “Moreover, culture values like politeness or a ‘keep it calm’ attitude are likely to play a major role in creating an extremely cooperative driving culture.”

Australia, ranked second on the list behind the U.K., is also a great place to live. The second place was awarded to Australia, which is known for its relaxed lifestyle. The report said that Australians are known to be patient and tolerant, even in rush hour. Australia scored 35.02. The U.S. and Portugal round out the top five.
