You’ve read that right. 50 Top PizzaItaly is not mentioned in’s list. Before you go into a mozzarella-filled rage know that it’s on purpose. The European nation, and capital of everything pizza, has its own list. This is because Italian pizzerias are so much better than everyone else. This list is really the “50 Best Pizza Places in Europe Outside of Italy List.”
After we’ve gotten that out of our system, let’s celebrate all the other places making a big splash with their tasty pies. The experts who compiled the list say that the top pizza spot in the continent this year is Napoli on the RoadThe company is located in the United Kingdom.
The pizza rankings stated that “Napoli On the Road is more than a pizzeria. It is the symbol for a new age of Neapolitan Pizza in the United Kingdom.” This project, led by Michele Pascarella (awarded in 2023 for being the best pizza maker of Europe), has revolutionized the idea of a contemporary pizzeria. Every detail of the two locations, in Chiswick & Richmond, is designed to provide a dynamic gastronomic experience. The menu changes every 3 months according to the season and the quality of the selected ingredients.
It was also mentioned that the dough in this shop is one of its highlights, offering “bold yet well-balanced combinations.”
Napoli on the road is at the top of this list. Baldoria Madrid won awards for its “efficient” and “friendly” staff, as well as for their inventive pies, such the Bufala fest, which has roasted San Marzano sauce, confit cherry tomato, Parmesan crisps, and basil-pesto pesto.
Third place is shared by Via Toledo Vienna, Austria Sartoria Panatieri Barcelona. Via Toledo was ranked first thanks to “excellent, fresh ingredients from Italy.” Rankings also noted that some pizzas contain “a bit of the flavors of Puglia“, the origin region of Francesco & Chiara, founders of the restaurant, brings a nice creative element.” Sartoria Panatieri was praised for its delicious desserts and pies, but also because of its wide range of craft beers. The rankings said that the desserts are artisanal and almost like grandmothers’ treats. A must-try tart is the blueberry mascarpone tart.
50 Top Pizza explained the 20 best pizza restaurants in Europe were automatically added to the list of 100 Best Pizzerias around the world, along with those from Asia-Pacific and Latin America. The final awards will be held on September 8th and it is sure to be the most delicious event ever.
