Marriott opened last week its first extended-stay mid-market hotel, marking a significant milestone in its quest to attract budget-conscious tourists who seek apartment-style accommodations.
The company is also up against well-established players such as Extended Stay America, Choice Hotels and Hilton as well as more recent entrants.
Concord Hospitality developed the 124 room StudioRes property located in Fort Myers Florida with assistance from Whitman Peterson. The 124-room property in Fort Myers, Florida was developed by Concord Hospitality with the help of private equity firm Whitman Peterson.
Skift quoted Noah Silverman as saying, “We are really excited about the momentum we expect to build from this opening, and those that have already been announced, in less than a calendar year.”
Marriott has announced that it will add 40 new StudioRes properties by 2027 and is currently in negotiations for hundreds of possible deals.
