Mildred keeps pace with you The GateSince 1989, the flagship Hammersmith restaurant of has served a hearty plant-based menu to foodies in this suburban area. The Gate is a favorite of the vegocracy, including Madonna, Gwyneth and Paul McCartney. Best for Vegetarian roasts in London

The Canonbury Tavern The capital’s most comprehensive Sunday roast menu is available at. Start your meal with a creamy caramelized onion soup topped off with mushrooms, truffles oil, and a slice of sourdough. You can also try a salad with roasted figs and beetroots topped with whipped cheese, candied walnuts, and feta. On the Sunday menu is the signature plant burger, but we prefer the inventive plant-based alternatives. Wild mushroom pithivier with feta and onions? Yes, please!

Sharing small plates, once a fad but now a modern way to dine out, can be a challenge for vegetarians. They may find themselves eating one courgette while everyone else is enjoying ham croquettes or ox cheeks. The second generation of small plate specialists have corrected this imbalance by creating beautifully formed plates of vegetables, which are often the best things on the menu. Yotam’s RoviFive of the plates are vegetarian. They range from the classic burrata with its plumpness to the celeriac shawarma that is smoky. This means no vegetarian warrior has to feel left behind.
