    What travelers should know about the Washington, D.C. area flight disruptions on June 14,

    The upcoming military ceremony on June 14th will affect air travelers using Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

    Travelers may want to check their airline schedules along the East Coast over the next couple of weeks. A major airport has plans to limit flights in the latter part of the month. 

    Officials will restrict the airspace of Ronald Regan Washington National Airport DCA on June 14 in order to accommodate a military parade that is taking place at the nation’s Capitol. The ground traffic in Washington, D.C., will also be affected by road closures and military flights paths. 

    A representative of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport posted on its website that the Federal Aviation Administration will suspend airline operations in DCA to accommodate aircraft flyovers, followed by fireworks displays. website.

    The flight restrictions could disrupt connections for passengers even if Washington, D.C. is not their final destination. According to reports, a senior government official told NBC News This ground stop will affect 116 flights.

    Reagan Airport advises passengers flying on June 14 to contact their airline and make arrangements for a rebooking. The airport advises people who are driving to use public transportation to reach the airport during the road closures.

    The parade was held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Army which was founded in June 14th, 1775.
