Dan Thomson, founder of Sensay and CEO of the artificial intelligence (AI), startup that specialises digital replicas of humans, will open the Philippine event. world’s first AI island Philippines
Sensay Island’s AI-powered government will be based on renowned historical leaders and experts. The Cabinet will consist of 17 AI members such as Winston Churchill Nelson Mandela, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
Each AI replica is designed to reflect the personality and values of the historical figure after which it was modeled. These replicas have been trained by using the teachings and speeches, as well as the writings and teachings of the historical figures they are modeled after.
Through the Sensay Island website, the public will be able to engage directly with these AI replicas – asking questions related to their historical roles, learning more about the island and exploring Sensay as a company.
Soon, global spectators will be able to register as ‘e-residents’ of Sensay Island. Digital citizenship allows users to make new policy proposals for the AI administration. Both the AI Cabinet as well as the public vote on proposed policies, and those that are successful will be added into the constitution of Sensay Island.
Sensay is also inviting tourism boards from around the globe to work together to create new guest experiences that use the brand’s Wisdom Engine.
Sensay, which generated £2.5 million in pre-seed investment, claims this project will “demonstrate that AI can be deployed in national governance to aid policymaking free from political partisanship and bureaucratic delays, and with unprecedented transparency and participation”.

Sensay Island is also a great example of a new approach to destination marketing, and tourism boards. Digital replicas are able to bring current and former leaders from destinations alive, and share local knowledge, insights, and culture beyond policy-making.
