The team at Pullman Melbourne City Centre, in partnership with the hotel’s owners ERDI and the ERDI Foundation, has completed a remarkable 12-month fundraising effort, raising $57,196 in support of Melbourne homelessness charity 300 Blankets – demonstrating the powerful role hospitality can play in building stronger communities.
Funds raised at the hotel through staff-led activities will support flagship 300 Blankets programmes, such as Outreach, Soul Kitchen and other programs that provide essential care, food and connection to those experiencing homelessness or at risk.
James Muscat said that Pullman Melbourne’s General Manager at the City Centre, James Muscat: Our team finds our partnership with 300 Blankets deeply meaningful. Hoteliers are in the care-giving business. This partnership provided our team with a way to show that care outside of our hotel. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to work with 300 Blankets, and see how our collective efforts can truly make a difference in people’s life.”
In addition to supporting day-to-day services, funds raised will also help 300 Blankets develop and implement new community programs identified in the charity’s strategic plan – ensuring long-term, scalable support for vulnerable Melburnians.
Peter Royce, the President of 300 Blankets, said: “The extraordinary efforts of the Pullman Melbourne City Centre team and the generosity of the ERDI Foundation over the past 12 months are, for 300 Blankets, without precedent. This partnership has gone beyond fundraising – it’s been about genuine connection and shared purpose. The Pullman team’s compassion and commitment has not only increased our resources, but also lifted the spirits of both our volunteers and those we serve.”
